About us

CERALYSE was founded on March 1st, 1991 by Dipl. Ing. (FH) Hansjoachim Roth, who, after completing his apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory technician and subsequent study of technical chemistry, had over 25 years of experience as a plant manager and laboratory manager in wax production and wax analysis at the Schmidt successor Celle) collected. This experience formed the basis for the Ceralyse Laboratory, which was the first independent laboratory to offer high-quality services in the field of wax analysis from wax-processing companies to dealers, beekeepers and other end customers. Since 2015 CERALYSE has been supported by Dr. Ingo Scholz, who gained his first experiences while studying in the field of wastewater technology and analysis. He then did his doctorate on the interaction of the surface waxes of plants with the environment and was head of the functional surfaces and bionics working group at the University of Bonn under Prof. Wilhelm Barthlott and the bionics working group at the RWTH Aachen (Prof. Werner Baumgartner / Prof. Hermann Wagner).

The chemical laboratory CERALYSE was founded in 1991 by Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Hansjoachim Roth and has been led by Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Hansjoachim Roth and Dr. Ingo Scholz. For over 25 years, CERALYSE has been offering customer-oriented and high-quality services and has thus developed into one of the leading laboratories in the fields of vegetable, animal and mineral waxes and wax products. CERALYSE’s customers include wax processing companies, importers and wholesalers, universities and government institutes, as well as beekeeping companies from all over the world.

In addition to the eponymous beeswax (CERA, Latin for beeswax), CERALYSE naturally also offers services for (almost) all other vegetable, animal and mineral waxes, from well-known waxes such as carnauba wax, candelilla wax, sunflower wax, rice wax, sugar cane wax and montan wax to unusual and rare waxes such as cotton wax or rose wax.

Our quality management

From 2016 we have set up a quality management system in accordance with DIN ISO 9001: 2015. This includes the description and documentation of all relevant work processes in our analysis laboratory. The quality management is regularly checked and evaluated by external audits.

To control our measurement and analysis methods, we regularly use comparative measurements with other laboratories as well as round robin tests, among others in cooperation with the Bavarian Animal Health Service under the direction of Mr. Dr. Hemlock.

Our analysis methods and measurement techniques are regularly adapted to the current status of legal regulations. Participation in internal and external training measures is a matter of course for us.
